Our City Administration Department, led by City Administrator Eric Delgado, is dedicated to ensuring the effective and efficient management of the city’s operations. This department is responsible for a broad range of municipal functions, including financial management, human resources, business licensing, and more. Eric Delgado

Eric Delgado joined the City of Laurens as City Administrator in January 2022. He brings a wealth of experience from both his military and academic backgrounds. Delgado graduated from Lander University with a bachelor's degree in history and later returned to complete a Master of Science in Management (MSM). Additionally, he holds a Master of Public Administration from Clemson University, making him the first City Administrator of Laurens to hold this advanced degree.

Delgado’s career began in the U.S. Army, where he served as a second lieutenant and eventually rose to the rank of captain. His leadership roles included serving as the information technology director at Camp Casey in Korea and leading a military transition team in Iraq, focusing on training Iraqi forces and coordinating provincial reconstruction efforts.

In his role as City Administrator, Delgado emphasizes strategic planning, teamwork, and responsible growth to enhance the community’s prosperity and quality of life. His efforts have been crucial in securing significant grants for city projects and improving municipal services.

City Clerk
Leslie Mattison

Leslie Mattison serves as the City Clerk and the City’s Payroll and HR Administrator. Appointed by the City Council, Leslie is responsible for maintaining city records, overseeing payroll and human resources functions, and ensuring compliance with municipal regulations. Her role is pivotal in managing the administrative and financial aspects of city operations, providing essential support to both employees and the public.
